I couldn’t believe my luck when, the first time I left the house with my new telephoto lens, I stumbled upon this great blue heron at Orenco Woods Nature Park.
I get the feeling that he was used to the paparazzi—he saw me, then ignored me as I proceeded to set up my tripod about 25 feet away. I spent about 20 minutes sharing space with the bird, who essentially sat perfectly still and allowed me to take this same photo over and over.
