Did Marie Kondo inspire you to tidy up your sock drawer this winter? Well, now it is time to redirect that energy to tidying up the Wygant Peak trail.
The winter snow has been deep and wet in the eastern Gorge. And with it, a load of branches dumped on the trail. Some bigger stuff too. And then there is that snow-weighted brush that now arches into the trail. Saw, lop, rake, and toss — we’ll be doing some rousing spring cleaning.
We’ll be working on the upper half of the trail so we’ll be above the poison oak and ticks.
Be prepared for a round-trip hike of up to 7 miles. The work itself won’t be overly strenuous. The scenery will be tops. The snacks above average.
