Wahkeena Falls/Larch Mountain Trail Party

Work Description: Clearing switchbacks, brushing, treadwork

Potential cancellation:  

Because the fire-affected zone is potentially more hazardous than other sites where we work, the crew leader may decide to cancel the work party the day before, based on weather conditions. We will not work in high winds, excessive rain, or potential ice events.  Volunteers are advised to check their emails the night before in case there are unanticipated work party cancellations.  

Hiking information:

We will be hiking up the Larch Mt. trail switchbacks above Multnomah Falls and work on rock clearing and general trail maintenenace to Wahkeena Falls. If you have questions or concerns about the hike, please contact riley.mcmanus@trailkeepersoforegon.org

What to expect:

 Steep hiking along Multnomal Falls switchbacks and working with tools on an open trail.  A mandatory detailed safety discussion will be held before work begins.

What to bring:

Bring your lunch, snacks and plenty of water.

What to wear:

  • Boots (tennis shoes are not recommended)

  • Sturdy work gloves (more than one pair is a good idea)

  • Long sleeved shirts recommended, long pants required

  • Rain gear as appropriate for the weather

  • Eye protection is recommended (eye glasses, safety glasses, etc.)

  • TKO will supply hard hats and safety glasses


We will park at the Multnomal Falls Parking area (further side of the lot). Exit 31 of I-84.
