June 10 at 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

Crew Leader:  Tom Lovett
Hike Distance:  Up to 2 miles
Elevation Gain: up to 1000’
Hike Difficulty:
Work Difficulty: Easy
Work Description: Restoration of tread and improve drainage
Keywords: drainage, tread

Overview: For the first time since the Eagle Creek Fire the road is now open to the upper Larch Mountain Trailhead. We will be starting from the trailhead and working downhill to restore the tread, clear brush, and clear drainages.

Project description: The upper Larch Mountain trailhead has been closed since the Eagle Creek fire. This section of the trail was not damaged by the fire but it is covered with debris, and many drainage features are clogged. After a safety and tool talk we will start at the trailhead and work downhill to remove debris from the tread, improve eroded sections, and improve drainage.

Hiking information: We will start work at the trailhead. Total hiking distance will depend on the amount of trail we are able to clear.

What to expect: You should expect to participate in this work party for its entirety. For safety reasons, please to not arrive late or expect to be able to leave early.

What to bring: Bring your lunch, snacks, and plenty of water.

What to wear:

  • Boots (Please wear something sturdy that will protect your toes from sharp tools. No tennis shoes allowed!)

  • Work gloves (loaner gloves available)

  • Long sleeved shirts and pants.

  • Rain gear as appropriate for the weather

  • TKO will supply hard hats and safety glasses
