Learn how to treat an injury or illness in the backcountry where help is delayed. This 16-hr hands-on, interactive class led by NW Responder has been customized over the years for hike leaders and shepherds for Friends of the Gorge. Now NW Responder is working with TKO to be ready for injuries that could occur while out on a trail party. The first day is spent indoors followed by a field session on day two. Upon successful completion each student receives a Northwest Responder two-year Wilderness First Aid certification card. The program follows the basic outline of the NOLS and Red Cross two-day Wilderness First Aid course.
We’ll be offering an optional CPR certification in combination with the WFA course. CPR training will take place directly following Day 1 of the WFA, from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. Reserve your spot for the CPR training by submitting an additional ticket below. Your total fee for both WFA/CPR courses will be $175.
Please note: We cannot issue refunds for cancellations after November 12th unless another participant takes your spot. If there is enough demand (on the wait list) we may be able to open up additional space.
