Part of TKO’s trail workshop series – TKO Scout School is a half day workshop, introducing “trail eyes” to our participants and ways to observe/report trail issues. 1-part hike, 1-part class, the event is an introductory experience geared towards all supporters of trail stewardship.
Please note, there is a $5 park day use fee upon arrival to the workshop.
$10 optional donation includes:
Participants will meet at the picnic shelter at the day use area of Cape Lookout State Park, go for a hike along the North Trail and head back to the meeting hall located in C Loop for a review of the observations made in the field and where TKO intends to dig in on trails along the north coast region.
This great coastal headland hike with lots of ups and downs begins at the day use area for Cape Lookout State Park, rises through lush Sitka Spruce and western hemlock forest. We’ll make our way up grade for 1.5-2 miles, then hit a halfway point to turn back and descend the trail to review the things observed. If you have questions or concerns about this class, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
