Come join us at Cascade Head for some trail training! We’ll be learning on the closed Cascade Head north trail that TKO is working with the forest service to restore!
Part of TKO’s trail workshop series – TKO Scout School is a half day workshop, introducing “trail eyes” to our participants and ways to observe/report trail issues. 1-part hike, 1-part class, the event is an introductory experience geared towards all supporters of trail stewardship.
$10 optional donation includes:
Participants will meet and drive in together to the trailhead (directions will be emailed to participants 48 hours prior to the event). We’ll then start our guided hike and meet back at the trailhead to review our learnings. We’ll be viewing trail sections just restored by TKO volunteers as well as sections that haven’t had any maintenance since being closed over a decade ago.
This gentlly sloping coastal headland hike passes along the inland north side of the head through spruce and hemock forest with occasional glimpses of the ocean. We’ll make our way downhill for 1-1.5 miles, then turn around and ascend the trail to review our observations. If you have questions or concerns about this class, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
