Join us for a super-special Mother’s Day at McIver State Park. Located on the Clackamas River between Oregon City and Estacada, this 950-acre park is a true gem, with camping, boating, hiking and horseback riding opportunities for its visitors among its many attractions. There are over 14 miles of trails for hikers and horseback riders in the park.
We will be working on the Viewpoint trail, one that’s very special to the hearts of our TKO McIver contingent. This trail was put in from scratch by our volunteers over many weeks. It’s in need of a little love before the busy season hits, and our volunteer crews are getting in there to make the trail ship shape!
Special note for those under 18:
– A separate registration is required for all participants
– All those under 18 must bring a release signed by a parent or guardian
– All participants under 16 must have a parent or guardian present throughout the work party.
We will start at a trailhead and be walking downhill. Maximum hiking will be half a mile each way.
What to expect
You should expect to walk a mile on basic trail tread. Please arrive on time, as those not present for the safety briefing will be unable to participate due to safety concerns.
What to Bring
Bring your lunch and plenty of water. Also bring good work gloves and supportive boots. Please bring loppers if you have them!
Also, if you’ve checked the weather recently you know it’s expected to be warmer than normal. Please bring extra water, and please make sure everyone’s drinking enough water during the day to stay happy & healthy.
