TKO + Danner present: Oxbow Trail Party

November 8, 2019 at 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

Crew Leader: TKO + Danner
Hike Distance: 1 – 3 miles
Elevation Gain: 0′
Hike Difficulty: Easy
Work Difficulty: Easy – Medium
Work Description:  Prepping for box steps, creating armored drainage, other trail work.

Join Trailkeepers of Oregon and Danner as we work on trails in this beloved local park. Participants in this trail party will be entered to win a pair of Danner boots as a part of our Legacy Builders campaign.

TKO is partnering with Metro and Oxbow staff to complete projects throughout the park.  Work may include prepping a site for box steps, armoring drainage to make it more sustainable, and other basic work as time and energy dictate.

Note: The area is awash in trailing blackberry, salmonberry and stinging nettles.  Please bring good gloves, if you have them.  Also, the trail can get very muddy, even on dry days, so please be prepared; bring clothes you can get dirty, and something to change into afterwards.

Hiking information:

We will be hiking perhaps one to three miles over the course of the day, with very little elevation gain.

What to expect:

We will meet at the Welcome Center no later than 8:30 before driving to our work site within the park. You should expect to participate in this work party for its entirety. For safety reasons, please to not arrive late or expect to be able to leave early.

You do not need to pay for parking; a free parking pass will be provided the day of the event.

There is very limited cell phone reception within the park.  We’ll be relying on park radios should an emergency arise.

What to bring:

  • Lunch

  • Plenty of water

  • Snacks

  • Gloves if you have them (loaner gloves available)

What to wear:
