Oregon Coast Trail Party – Neahkahnie Gap

**Please follow all civil authority restrictions for your community, email to be approved for participation following our safety policy and procedures. Volunteers will recieve a code to register upon approval**

In accordance with civil authority restrictions and land manager requirements for safety considerations, the following policies are currently in place: 

  • All volunteers will participate in the TKO COVID-19 Safety Lab, a broad safety orientation of TKO Safety Policy & Procedures for a COVID-19 Environment.

  • All volunteers will attend a digital safety briefing the Friday before the event.

  • All volunteers must administer a self-evaluation prior to attending in-person volunteer events (

  • All volunteers will read and sign the TKO Volunteer Waiver updated for COVID-19 for release and indemnity of TKO and the land manager partner.

  • Volunteers must bring their own gloves, cloth masks, hand sanitizer, and hardhat.  

  • Tools will be sanitized prior to the event, and will not be shared throughout the day. 

  • No carpools will be arranged by TKO for the time being.

Come join Trailkeepers of Oregon as we perform new trail construction/ annual maintenance on a brand new segment of the Oregon Coast Trail from Neahkahnie Mountain to Nehalem Road in Manzanita!! Plan to hike less than a mile to the workarea and work using a variety of hand tools, including hand saws. We prioritize safety and fun over quantity of work accomplished and encourage people to try different things and work at a comfortable pace. No experience is necessary — you’ll be working with experienced crew leaders who will teach you all you need to know.

What to bring:
• Plenty of water
• Snacks
• Lunch

What to wear:

• Hiking Boots (Please wear something sturdy that will protect your toes from sharp tools. Tennis shoes are not recommended! Open toed shoes will not be allowed.)
• Work gloves (please bring your own)
• Long sleeved shirts and pants.
• Rain gear as appropriate for the weather
• Volunteers will supply hard hats and safety glasses

Directions: Detailed directions will be provided via email 2 days before the work party.
