[THIS EVENT HAS BEEN MOVED FROM TRYON CREEK TO MILO MCIVER STATE PARK]
This event is geared toward folks in the southern areas around Portland. Join TKO and employees from the Tualitan REI to give some love to this wonderful trail system. No experience necessary, our Crew Leaders will teach you everything you need to know.
It is time for TKO to do annual maintenance tasks at Milo McIver State Park. This trail party will involve work on the Maple Ridge trail, a 2- mile loop trail where TKO volunteers have done work for the last 3 years. There are two “step-over” logs that need to be removed, leaves to clear from drainages, an area that needs tread improvement, and possibly a culvert to install. The trail is beautiful right now with fall color!
The trail climbs gently from the trailhead to the ridge and then is flat. Total hiking distance will not be more than 2 miles.
What to Expect
You should expect to work on developed trail surfaces in a wooded area. We will be working with trail tools, small saws and loppers. You will work with experienced crew leaders. No experience is necessary.
What to Bring
Bring your lunch and plenty of water. Also bring good work gloves and supportive boots.
