McIver State Park, located on the Clackamas River between Oregon City and Estacada, is a 950-acre park with camping, boating, hiking and horseback riding opportunities for its visitors. There are over 14 miles of trails for hikers and horseback riders in the park. The Viewpoint Trail, built by TKO in 2016-2017, is a half-mile trail that connects the upper and lower sections of the park.
Camp hosts have built a bench that they would like to have placed at about the mid-point of the trail, where there is an excellent view of Mt. Hood and the Clackamas River. To create space for this bench, we will be removing and re-positioning existing curb logs and cutting back the bank (backslope). as well as brushing back blackberries near the proposed bench site.
The hike to the site is a gentle downhill of about 1/4 mile.
