In the fall, TKO crews built a trail realignment to eliminate a steep, rooty section of the Maple Ridge trail. This realignment is near completion, and we have been waiting for drier weather before opening it to the public. The first half of this day will be to complete the finishing touches on this section and to decommission the existing trail in that area.
The second half of the day we will drive to the lower Viewpoint Trail trailhead and explore two possible routes for a new trail that would connect the Viewpoint Trail with the Vortex trail extension that we built last year. This new trail would create a trail all the way around the Vortex meadow. We will discuss positives and negatives of routes in the trees adjacent to the meadow, or on the edge of the meadow itself.
