Killin Wetlands Trail Party – PSU

May 11 at 9:00 am - 12:30 pm

Work Party Location: Killin Wetlands Nature Park – Banks, OR
Dates: May 11th ,  2019
Timeframe: 9AM – 12:30PM
TKO Crew Leaders: Claudio Berstein, Jess Supinski and Steve Kruger

Description: TKO’s volunteer crew leaders will lead participants in trail drainage improvements that have caused damage due to unforeseen water flow through the area. Using hand tools to redirect water off trails, we will explore how hydrology and trail design can work together. Absolutely no prior trail work experience required!

Hiking: We will be hiking within approximately 25 yards from the trailhead, with very little elevation gain on heavily graveled trails.

What to bring:

  • 2 liters of water, no drinking water is found on site

  • Personal snacks to fuel the morning.

  • A lunch to have at the end of trail party

What to wear:

  • Hiking boots  that cover the ankle (Tennis shoes not recommended)

  • Long sleeved shirt and pants, no shorts permitted

  • Rain gear as appropriate for the weather

  • Work gloves

  • Hard hats and eye protection will be provided by TKO

For best results, use your GPS or a map guide from your own location.  Directions to the trailhead will be given to the participants prior to the work party date.
