Please join TKO for a day of trail work celebrating International Women’s Day. This trail party, specifically for individuals who identify as female, will meet at Oxbow Regional Park to work on drainage features along the main trail.
We’ll be using flat rock, provided by Metro, to create rock culverts to improve drainage, as well as using tools to remove leaves and other debris from existing drainage.
Note: The area is awash in trailing blackberry, salmonberry and stinging nettles. Please bring good gloves, if you have them. Also, the trail can get very mucky, even on dry days, plus this has the potential to be muddy work, so please be prepared; bring clothes you can get dirty, and something to change into afterwards.
We will be hiking perhaps a mile over the course of the day, with very little elevation gain.
What to expect:
We will meet at the Welcome Center no later than 8:30 before driving to our work site within the park. You should expect to participate in this work party for its entirety. For safety reasons, please to not arrive late or expect to be able to leave early.
You do not need to pay for parking; a free parking pass will be provided the day of the event.
There is very limited cell phone reception within the park. We’ll be relying on park radios should an emergency arise.
