In general, our focus will be brushing vegetation that has overgrown the trail and that has grown up through the trail tread. This trail is a section of Gorge Trail #400 that runs through the Gorge. The section we will focus on is between McCord Creek and Moffett Creek.
We will meet at 8:15 AM for a safety and tool talk and then begin our project. There may be some tread repair to perform as well as brushing.
We will be hiking along a paved bike path to reach different segments of Trail 400 to the east of Elowah Falls. Depending on how much work has been accomplished at previous trail parties, you may be hiking up to 3 miles over uneven terrain. If you have questions or concerns about the hike, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
What to expect:
You should expect to hike and use a variety of different tools over uneven terrain, with the possibility of obstacles to climb over and/or remove. You will be on a trail in a closed area due to the fire in the Gorge of 2017. A mandatory detailed safety discussion will be held before work begins. For safety reasons, we expect volunteers to stay for the duration of the trail party. Please do not expect to be able to arrive late or to leave early.
