Note: Humbug Mountain State Park is offering free camping to volunteers that wish to participate in this event. Camping is available the night of Thursday, April 25th to the morning of Sunday, April 28th. Please email trevor.bradford@trailkeepersoforegon.org if you would like to camp, and what nights you plan on camping.

Project Information:

We will be brushing the trail corridor, and wideing the tread with hand tools. It should be a lot of fun!

Hiking information:

Expect a steep/long hike for this one! Please come prepared to hike 4 miles round trip up steep terrain with an elevation gain of 1700ft. Based on group comfort level, we can also work on the lower part of the mountain if folks don’t feel like summiting it.

You should plan to participate in this trail party for its entirety. For safety reasons, please do not arrive late or expect to be able to leave early.

Event details:

Detailed event information, including directions to the meeting location, will be provided to registrants via email 48 hours prior to the event. If you’re volunteering for the first time, read this blog by a volunteer to know what to expect at your first trail party.

What to bring:

• Plenty of water
• Snacks/lunch
• Work gloves if you have them (loaner gloves available)
• Any medications or emergency supplies you may need
• Sunscreen + insect repellent
• A pack to bring all of this with you on trail
• TKO provides all tools and personal protective equipment (hard hats, gloves, glasses)

What to wear:

• Boots (Please wear something sturdy that will protect your toes from sharp tools. Tennis shoes are not recommended. Open-toed shoes will not be allowed.)
• Long sleeved shirts and pants
• Rain gear, insulating layers, sun protection, etc. as appropriate for the weather
