What better time to come together and celebrate all our Gorge stewardship efforts than National Public Lands Day. NPL Day felt like the right time, and the right place was an obvious one – Angel’s Rest! Immediately following a morning atop Angel’s Rest, you are invited to an afternoon celebration at Beacon Rock State Park.
Angel’s Rest trail opened in November 2018, after nearly 80 trail party events hosted by TKO. As we edge closer to a year after opening, we hope to accomplish a number of follow up maintenance and enhancement projects. Volunteers will meet at the trailhead to begin service 8:30AM. Groups will be heading to Beacon Rock State Park for lunch to begin at 1PM. General brushing and touch ups on trail corridor and tread, using hand tools to dress up segments of trail between the overflow parking area and the viewpoint will be our priority. Here are the “teams” to be divided out by ticket type that you can register for:
We will be gradually working our way up this trail as we work on it. You may be hiking more than 4-6 miles over steep terrain. If you have questions or concerns about the hike, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Bring snacks and plenty of water.
Directions to the worksite will be provided to registered volunteers no later the day prior to the work party date, along with any other necessary information.
