Hello TKO,

Great work team! Its such a fantastic feeling to see what a dedicated group of people can accomplish when they work together. Washington Trails Association, Trailkeepers of Oregon, Cape Horn Conservancy and Mount St. Helens Club all pitched in to do a great job on that reroute.

Everyone took to the loppers and handsaws to brush in the corridor. Then each got down to business in the dirt. Teresa and Keith wiped out a huge stump. Joseph installed a curvaceous climbing turn. Ted and Frank eradicated another stump while Curtis and Nysa replaced their stump with sweet trail. Meanwhile Wen-li and Maxine pulled out a bunch of organic debris and Sandy buffed out the middle section. Down the line, Brian and Michelle made perfect piece of tread and Johnny and Anita pushed the western end.

I'll be meeting with the Forest Service tomorrow to talk with them about finishing the project as well as other developments on the Cape Horn Trail. We have another WTA work party on Thursday, September 16th at Cape Horn and again on Saturday October 9th.
